DTN COMMENTS: Light trading has surfaced in parts of Kansas this morning at
146.00, generally $1.00 lower than last week. Buying interest in the North
seems to be slowly improving though we haven't seen a major bid over 237.00
so far. Asking prices are around 148+ in the South, and 242+ in the North.
Given the fact that futures will be closed on Friday because of the holiday
both sides may be interested in completing business today.

Cattle futures are struggling in the early rounds with feeder contracts off
by triple digits. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with light to
moderate box movement.

NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-800-369-7675, 1-402-399-6402, or 1-402-462-8897. All sales will be listed
anonymously and organized by state. General trends and summaries from this
data will be posted on the Daily Sales Reported to DTN page.
